Firefox fix for clicked links opening new windows

If you are like me, and want a new tab to open when you click a link in your web browser, the following fix may be for you.

Firefox recently went through an update. All appeared to be good, except that probably 50% of links that I clicked opened a new window, instead of opening a new tab within the existing window. I guessed that some links had been natively set to open in a new tab from their web developers, but that I too needed to reset my tab versus window setting in my web browser. So I went hunting for a fix.

The fix was surprisingly easy, but I went past it three times before I actually spotted it, hence writing this blog post!

Go to the menu icon in Firefox, select options, then scroll down to tabs (third section down). Ensure you have "Open new windows in a new tab instead" ticked.

Problem solved.
