When DivX won't auto-open movies

On my PC, I use DivX player to watch video. Quite recently I was trying to open a film, only to find that it wouldn't automatically open in DivX. I ended up having to use another player. When trouble-shooting this issue later, it turned out that it was a simple matter of the auto-update feature of DivX not working.

There is a very simple fix: simply click on the following link, and the required download (DivX Update Installer) should start to download for you at http://www.divx.com/downloads/divx/1.

Download and install to update to the latest DivX version, and hopefully, auto-updates should also be restored from now on.
