Ab initio

I came across an interesting Latin phrase the other day, "ab initio", meaning 'from the beginning'. From the beginning. What a lovely phrase.

We could consider this in the light of starting something new or being at the beginning of a journey. There is a flavour of ‘initialising’ in the Latin that I quite like. I can see links to other words. Ignition. Infinite.

Take off. Blue sky thinking.

There is a lot of planning that needs to go into new things. I aim to indulge in plenty of ab initio this year, right from the beginning :-)
