Turn Off PowerPoint Animations

Have you ever borrowed a slide deck from someone else to find that they had loaded animations into it that did not suit your phrasing, speed or presentation style?

I leant a slide deck of mine to a colleague as their PowerPoints had crashed just before the off, and we found just that problem for them. I knew there was a master kill-switch for animation somewhere, buried in PowerPoint, but I could not for the life of me remember where. After some digging, I found it.

Then I thought that I would not be the only person who had needed that information, so thought I would write up the solution in a blog post!

So, to halt all animations in a slide deck:

• Open the PowerPoint deck
• Go to the Slide Show ribbon
• Go to "Set Up Slide Show"
• Tick "Show without animation"
• Click OK

All done. Too, too easy
