Removing pdf watermarks

Sometimes we can all put a watermark in the wrong place, or muck about with our final design layering and end up with something in the middle of a text box once we have pdfed it and are at the printers already. Oops!

This situation is recoverable within Adobe Acrobat even though your graphic design software package is still in your office, on your PC, kilometres away. Simply ask your printer if you can open the file in Acrobat Pro, then:
  1. Highlight the watermark, then go to Document | Watermark | Remove.
  2. If this doesn't work, go to Document | Background | Remove.
  3. If this doesn't work, go to Tools | Advanced Editing | Touch-up Object Tool | select the box around the floating text, move it off the page, and delete it.
These three options have saved me having to postpone a print job many times!
