Creating GoogleScholar Alerts

GoogleScholar is a great research tool.

Once you have run a search, you can limit it by date range, and sort by date or by relevance. You can specify if you want to include patents, or if you want to look for case law.

Additionally, it has some functions that not everyone is aware of; including being able to load alerts into the system for specific keyword searches.

If you have a gmail account, then setting up GoogleScholar Alerts is very easy: just go to https://scholar.google.co.nz/intl/en/scholar/help.html#alerts and enter your desired keywords in a string, separated by pluses, for example:
leadership+diversity+governance
sport+ethnicity+case

Then you will get a weekly gmail update showing any new GoogleScholar activity. It is easy to use, easy to set up, and easy to amend if you realise that your keywords are too narrow.

Give it a try.
